    The first IFSC European Youth Cup (EYC) of the year is being held at EICA Ratho, Edinburgh over the weekend of 18th - 20th May. The event involves both Speed and Lead climbing events for male and female junior, youth A and youth B categories.

First Aid Course 2012

What to expect:

This is a nationally recognised HSE Emergency First Aid at Work course valid for 3 years with certification. Areas covered throughout the day will include; Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), choking and unconscious casualty (including recovery position and dealing with seizure / fitting), drowning, suspension trauma and hypo / hyperthermia.

This course can be used as an ‘appointed persons’ for NGB qualifications including RYA, BCU and MLTE or a yearly refresher for the higher level First Aid at Work (3 day).

What to bring:

The course will be both classroom and practical based. There will be scenario elements in an outdoor environment so please wear warm clothing and suitable footwear and bring a notebook and pen for theory work. Refreshments will be available on site but please feel free to bring your own lunch.

Course delivery:

Outdoor Adventure Warehouse instructors Kit Ridley and Vicky Fisher have over ten years experience in delivering First Aid courses for two HSE providers. They specialise in unique high risk environments including working at height, contact sports, forestry and landscaping. They both spend a vast majority of their time working in the outdoor environment.

Course fee: £55.00 per person.

Location: Piddinghoe Pond, Piddinghoe (near Newhaven), East Sussex.

Timings: Course starts at 09:00 and finishes at approximately 17:30.
