The first IFSC European Youth Cup (EYC) of the year is being held at EICA Ratho, Edinburgh over the weekend of 18th - 20th May. The event involves both Speed and Lead climbing events for male and female junior, youth A and youth B categories.

A significant rockfall has occurred on the top half of the route Borneo, at the BMC owned and managed cliff, Craig Bwlch y Moch at Tremadog.

It's been one of the toughest seasons on Everest in recent decades. Dry conditions have raised the danger of rock fall and the route through the Khumbu Icefall has been unusually difficult.
